Types of Skirts

It is natural to follow trends , Skirts have been in fashion since centuries, though their styles and patterns have got evolved with the time. -The best part about skirts is you can wear them at any occasion. Skirts are extremely versatile, skirts can be dressed up or down to look fancy or casual for every occasion from a business meeting to a date or at dinner.

Some of the many different shapes of skirts include -

A-line skirts - A skirt with a slight flare, roughly in the shape of a capital letter " A ". It fits at the waist while slightly touching hips and thighs. This kind of skirt is recommended for you if you are pear-shaped.This skirt is flattering for most body types but this style is not very flattering for thin, small and narrow-hipped women . These skirts can be casual or for office wear .

Pencil / Tube skirt - It is shaped long and straight like a pencil. They are flexible to wear with almost any tops casual ,formals,blouse and pumps . Usually they are in stretchy fabrics and with a slit at the back. If you are skinny or slim they are ideal for you as they are curvy and emphasizing the hips .

Pleated skirt - A skirt with fullness reduced to fit the waist by means of regular pleats or folds . Its for those that are medium height and slim hipped. Pleated skirts which can be stitched flat to hip-level or free-hanging. This type of skirt can do wonders for a thin or petite figure , accentuating the curve of the hip.

Straight skirt - It makes you look slim and tall .Straight skirt falls rightly from the hip. The best part about this shape is that it can be tailored in a wide variety of fabrics, from cotton and satin to denim, knit and leather. It is very versatile and goes well with boots, open-toed wedges and sandals, flats and platform heels .

Mini skirts - These casual and sexy skirts are loved more by men than women. It is a thigh-length skirt, and micro-mini, an extremely short version. It just right to reveal a beautiful pair of legs. They go well with flat strapy sandals or boots.

Bubble / Balloon skirt - This great skirt is puffy. What makes it stand out is that the hem is the same width as the waist, giving the illusion of a bubble. They are in bright colours and different fabrics, like satin.If you are tall and slim this is shape is perfect for you . Pair it with a simple, solid top.

Flared skirts - Are recommended if you are tall and heavy on the hips.

Kilt-skirt - A wrap-around skirt with overlapping aprons in front and pleated around the back. Team-up it with a more casual or solid-coloured top.

Full skirts - It balances out a slim-waisted, full-busted figure. Fabric that flows from the hips into soft pleats can be very flattering to a plus-sized figure type. Wear these with a fitted top for the curvy look.

Sarong - A square of fabric wrapped around the body and tied on one hip to make a skirt.Team up with casual top or tight fitted top fr its best looks. It is worn as a skirt or as a cover-up over a bathing suit in tropical climates.

Skirts are versatile.They can be worn in the warm and cool weather . Leggings or knee-high socks can be worn in the cooler temperatures to keep your legs warm.
